Lam Sai Wing’s “Tiger and Crane Double Form” (Fu Hok Seung Ying) manual, translated and published online on our website? Free?
What do you think about that?
Couple of years ago, Southern Fist Online Community Forum (now offline) run a highly succesful series on “Taming of the Tiger in Gung Pattern” (Gung Ji Fuk Fu Kyun); not exactly a translation of the original manual (we are fortunate to finally have one), but step-by-step discussion of all the moves.
In 1920’s, Jyu Yu Jai, together with other disciples of Grand Master Lam Sai Wing, wrote a detailed manual on “Tiger and Crane Double Form” set, as well as various Hung Ga Kyun applications and concepts. So far, there is no good translation of this precious text, unfortunately.
Thinking of the SFO thread success, an idea was born. How about translate and publish the Lam Sai Wing’s “Tiger and Crane Double Form” manual, move by move, online, as ongoing project? Readers of our website could add their comments, share their point of view, discuss… Just like back in the days of SFO.
As our school is dedicated to practical usage, we started to think about publishing the parts of the original book, dedicated to combat application of various Hung Ga Kyun techniques, as well as explaning important principles of our art.
