Hi guys, I'm looking for some opinions form my fellow Hung Gar practitioners.
When my second child was born I moved far enough away from my Sifu to make training with him very difficult. I now train 1 or 2 private lessons each year with him.
I am particularly attached to my Sifu, as I hold a great deal of respect for him both as a teacher and as somebody I consider to be a really good man. His method of teaching resonates with me. But ultimately my Kung Fu is about me.
Between work (very busy and important to me both for what I do, and the money) and my two young children (also very important to me), I have found maintaining regular training/practice/play very difficult. I have a space, I have good intentions, and I have excuses. I need to change something.
Recently while looking into Schools of Kung Fu I noticed that there is a Shaolin Kung Fu school nearby. http://www.shaolinkungfuguan.c.....tyles.html
In the styles section it mentions Hung Gar.
I am going to talk with them, but I am curious if anybody has had any experience with Shaolin schools teaching Hung Gar? I am going to ask about lineage etc. I am also curious about the 5 Animals that they mention (ie the Hung Gar animals)
Depending on what I find out I will also talk with my current Sifu about training with them. Mainly because I would still want to train with my Sifu a couple of times a year to help maintain what has been passed onto me, and to maintain the connection.
